The Hookway School Family & Friends Reunion 2007. What a time we had!!!!
Classmates & Teachers shared the memories. We had two teachers at our reunion events. On Friday night at the Hospitality Night (Meet & Greet), Ms. Kirby came and she had a good time. She stay awhile. She danced on the dance floor--and boy, can she dance. She looked younger than some of us. On Saturday, the day of the picnic, Ms. Johnson came by--I believe she was a kindergarten or first grade teacher. She came with pictures of the past. Also both aldermen came by our picnic--Ald. Brookins 21st Ward and Ald. Thomas 17th Ward. Sunday Worship Service was great also--nice crowd of Hookway classmates and neighbors came by and one of the messages that day was for us to stay connected. Another message was we should not only do a picnic reunion, but also claim back our community from gangs, violence and our economy. We acknowledged the classmates and teachers that we know have passed on. (Precious memories---Oh how they linger) This was really very spiritual. Also--two classmates, who are ministers participated with the service.
